Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) General (GEN) Vincent Brooks calling on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence earlier today.
Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC), General (GEN) Vincent Brooks, called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence this afternoon. GEN Brooks, who is in Singapore on an introductory visit from 5 to 7 January 2014, had earlier called on Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Ng Chee Meng and Chief of Army Major-General Ravinder Singh after inspecting a Guard of Honour. As part of his visit, GEN Brooks will also visit the Multi-Mission Range Complex and Murai Urban Training Facility (MUTF) later today and tomorrow respectively.
GEN Brooks' visit underscores the excellent and long-standing defence relationship between Singapore and the United States. The Singapore Army and the USARPAC interact regularly through professional exchanges, courses, visits, and exercises such as Exercise Tiger Balm. These interactions have enhanced the professionalism and inter-operability of the two armies, and strengthened the mutual understanding and friendship between their personnel. Both armies look forward to further enhancing bilateral training opportunities.
