Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, First Admiral (FADM) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Mohd Hanifah calling on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence earlier today.
The Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral (FADM) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence this afternoon. FADM Halim, who is in Singapore on his farewell visit from 19 to 21 February 2014, had earlier met with Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral Ng Chee Peng and inspected a Guard of Honour.
The visit by FADM Halim underscores the strong and long-standing bilateral defence ties between Singapore and Brunei. Under FADM Halim's leadership, bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and RBN has grown from strength to strength. The RBN and RSN engage regularly in a wide range of activities, which include professional exchanges and bilateral exercises. These interactions have strengthened the camaraderie and friendship between the personnel of the two navies.
In recognition of his efforts and contributions to deepening the relations between both navies, FADM Halim was conferred Singapore's prestigious military award, the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera) or Meritorious Service Medal (Military)], in January 2011.
