Chief of Air Force of the Royal Malaysian Air Force General (GEN) Tan Sri Dato' Sri Rodzali bin Daud calling on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen.
The Chief of Air Force of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) General (GEN) Tan Sri Dato' Sri Rodzali bin Daud called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence this morning. GEN Rodzali, who is in Singapore on a farewell visit from 6 to 8 Aug 2014, had earlier called on Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Ng Chee Meng and Chief of Air Force Major-General Hoo Cher Mou after inspecting the Guard of Honour.
GEN Rodzali's visit underscores the warm and long-standing defence ties shared between Singapore and Malaysia, as well as between the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and the RMAF. Both air forces interact regularly through professional exchanges, courses and exercises such as those under the ambit of the Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA). Of note, RSAF and RMAF fighters operated out of each other's air bases during the FPDA Exercise Bersama Lima 2013. Both air forces, together with those of Indonesia and Thailand, also conduct Eyes in the Sky combined maritime air patrols to enhance the security in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore.
