Reply to Media Queries on Findings of Coroner's Inquiry

In response to media queries on findings of coroner's inquiry, MINDEF issued the following reply: MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) extend our deepest sympathies to the family of the late PTE Ganesh for their loss.

MINDEF will study the State Coroner's findings carefully to improve and tighten our procedures to ensure better compliance by SAF units in dealing with soldiers with mental problems.

Apart from the Funeral Grant and the SAF Benevolent Grant that were extended to the family immediately following PTE Ganesh's passing, the SAF will continue to support his family with financial and other assistance.
