Minister for Defence Makes Introductory Visit to Laos

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen (extreme left) meeting with Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Lieutenant-General Douangchay Phichit (extreme right) at the Lao Ministry of National Defence.
Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen, who is conducting his introductory visit to Laos, met with Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Lieutenant-General (LG) Douangchay Phichit at the Lao Ministry of National Defence this morning. During the meeting, Dr Ng and LG Douangchay reaffirmed the warm and friendly bilateral defence relations between Laos and Singapore. Both sides also discussed a wide range of defence and security issues.
Prior to the meeting, Dr Ng inspected a Guard of Honour with LG Douangchay. As part of his official programme in Laos, Dr Ng also laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldier Monument. Dr Ng will call on Lao Vice President Bounnhang Vorachit later this afternoon.
