Chief of Defence Force conducts Introductory Visit to Indonesia

Chief of Defence Force Major-General (MG) Ng Chee Meng conducted his introductory visit to Indonesia from 27 to 29 May 2013.
MG Ng's introductory visit was conducted in conjunction with the 16th Combined Annual Report Meeting (CARM) - Indonesia-Singapore High Level Committee (INDOSIN HLC) which was co-chaired by MG Ng and Commander-in-Chief of the Indonesian National Defence Forces (TNI) Admiral (ADM) Agus Suhartono. MG Ng and ADM Suhartono also signed the Framework of Arrangement between the TNI and SAF on the CARM-INDOSIN HLC which formalises the existing bilateral meetings under the CARM-INDOSIN HLC between both armed forces.
As part of the visit, MG Ng also called on the Indonesian Coordinating Minister of Legal, Politics and Security Affairs ACM (Retd) Djoko Suyanto, Indonesian Defence Minister Dr Purnomo Yusgiantoro and ADM Suhartono. CDF also visited the headquarters of the TNI-AD Strategic Reserve Command (KOSTRAD), TNI-AL Western Fleet Command (KOARMABAR) and TNI-AU Operational Command I (KOOPSAU I).
The armed forces of both countries interact regularly in a range of activities, including visits, professional exchanges, and bilateral exercises such as Exercise Elang Indopura, Exercise Eagle and Exercise Safkar Indopura. These interactions have enhanced the mutual understanding and close ties between the two armed forces.
