Myanmar Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Makes Introductory Visit to Singapore

Myanmar Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Vice-Senior General Min Aung Hlaing calling on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen.
Myanmar Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Vice-Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is in Singapore from 13 to 16 January 2013 for his introductory visit, called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen this afternoon. Vice-Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana later in the day.
Vice-Senior General Min Aung Hlaing called on Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Neo Kian Hong after inspecting a Guard of Honour at the Ministry of Defence yesterday. While in Singapore, Vice-Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also visited the 2nd People's Defence Force at Clementi Camp, the Air Force Training Command at Paya Lebar Air Base, and the Changi Command and Control Centre in Changi Naval Base.
The visit by Vice-Senior General Min Aung Hlaing underscores the warm defence relations between Singapore and Myanmar. In addition to the exchange of visits, the two defence establishments also interact at multilateral forums such as the Shangri-La Dialogue, the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM) and the ADMM-Plus. Vice-Senior General Min Aung Hlaing departs Singapore tomorrow.
