Chief of Naval Operations of the Republic of Korea Navy, Admiral (ADM) Choi Yoon-Hee calling on Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing.
The Chief of Naval Operations of the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN), Admiral (ADM) Choi Yoon-Hee called on Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing at the Ministry of Defence this morning. ADM Choi, who is in Singapore for his introductory visit from 31 Jan to 2 Feb 2013, had earlier called on Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Neo Kian Hong and Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral Ng Chee Peng after inspecting the Guard of Honour. ADM Choi will also be visiting Headquarters Fleet and the Changi Command and Control Centre at Changi Naval Base this afternoon.
ADM Choi's visit underscores the warm and friendly defence relationship between Singapore and the Republic of Korea. The Republic of Singapore Navy and the ROKN interact regularly through professional exchanges, visits and courses, and have cooperated in the multinational counter-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden. Both defence establishments also interact at multilateral forums such as the Shangri-La Dialogue and the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting-Plus. These interactions have enhanced the mutual understanding and friendship between the personnel of both establishments.
