Response to Straits Times and TODAY on Feedback on National Service Valued

The Ministry of Defence and the Singapore Armed Forces would like to express appreciation to those who have written letters recently to provide their views and suggestions on National Service (NS).  We are heartened by the enthusiasm of many Singaporeans who wish to share their perspectives on how to improve NS. 

The suggestions covered a wide range of issues, including ways to provide for a more meaningful NS experience, volunteer opportunities, reducing waiting time for entrance into university, and providing more recognition to National Servicemen.  

The Committee to Strengthen National Service, chaired by the Minister for Defence, will consider all feedback and ideas carefully.  Those who wish to contribute their views may send them via email: strengthenNS@starnet.gov.sg.  Sessions will also be organised with National Servicemen and other stakeholders to gather their views.
