Commander of the Chengdu Military Area Command, People's Liberation Army, General Li Shiming calling on Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing.
Commander of the Chengdu Military Area Command, People's Liberation Army, General (GEN) Li Shiming called on Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing this morning. GEN Li, who is in Singapore for a visit from 8 to 10 April 2013, had earlier called on Chief of Defence Force Major-General Ng Chee Meng and Chief of Army Major-General Ravinder Singh.
GEN Li's visit underscores the warm and friendly defence relations between Singapore and China following the signing of the Agreement on Defence Exchanges and Security Cooperation in January 2008. The two defence establishments interact regularly through the exchange of high-level visits, courses, seminars and port calls, and have also held two joint training exercises.
