NDP ticket balloting
I thank Kiang Wan Nee for the feedback ("A fairer system of applying for NDP tickets", 1 Jun 12).
While we would like as many Singaporeans as possible to experience National Day Parade (NDP) , the number of ticket applications for NDP overwhelmingly exceed the seats available. Each year, repeat winners constitute a very small percentage of all successful applicants and do not significantly reduce the chances of new applicants from being allocated tickets.
Application for tickets has closed on 20 May 2012 and successful applicants will be notified from 1 to 5 June 2012. They can collect their tickets from 8 to 17 June, between 10am and 10pm daily at The Float@Marina Bay (20 Raffles Avenue, Singapore 039805). Those who are unable to secure tickets to the parade can join the Celebrations@The Bay where complementary activities are organised around the Marina Bay area.
We would like to thank the public for their feedback on the balloting system over the past few weeks. We will be exploring some of the suggestions in subsequent years.
We wish everyone an enjoyable NDP 2012.
Colonel Desmond Tan
Chairman EXCO, NDP 2012
