The TD 2012 campaign is centred on a series of community projects involving various groups in the public, private and people sectors who feel that they have benefitted from society and would, in turn, like to do something for the community. The projects are as follows:
NTU Project: Brick by Brick (for Boys' Town)

Charlene Low, Stellina Seng, Seat Seet and Sufiyan Sulaiman came up with project Brick by Brick to raise funds for Boys' Town to upgrade their facilities by selling, online, unique t-shirts designed pro-bono by local designers (www.brickbybrick.sg). They are a group of friends who are passionate about helping youths, especially those who lack opportunities. They are currently students, majoring in public relations and advertising in the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University.
Fairfield Methodist School (Secondary) Chinese New Year (CNY) Hampers Project

On 21 Jan 12, more than 300 Secondary 3 students helped to distribute food hampers to the needy residents of Block 45 (2-room flats) in Telok Blangah Drive. The students conceptualised and executed the project very much on their own, including calling up sponsors during the year-end holidays in 2011 to ask for donations. The students packed food items such as rice, cream crackers, soya sauce and cereal into 322 hampers.
Fairfield Methodist School (Secondary) (FMSS) has been a keen supporter of TD since 2009. Some of their notable initiatives in the past include re-painting the walls of homes of the less fortunate and elderly in 2010, and bringing a group of elderly out for a CNY outing in Chinatown in 2011.
CNY Lunch for Less Fortunate Elderly

Willin Low is 3rd from right.
Willin Low, owner of six restaurants in Singapore, including Wild Rocket, Wild Oats, Relish and Burger Bench & Bar, offered to do something for the less fortunate elderly in the spirit of the CNY celebrations as he has always believed in this mantra: "Don't just concentrate on making money, just pursue what you are good at and enjoy - then the money will come. And when the money comes, help the less fortunate." He prepared a three-course lunch for 21 elderly persons and two volunteers from Moral Neighbourhood Link (Telok Blangah Crescent) which is part of Bright Homes, on 29 Jan 12 (7th day of the CNY which is also "人日", i.e., "birthday of all mankind"). The CNY lunch was held at Wild Oats@Punggol Park.
Hosting Club Rainbow at the Singapore Airshow 2012
The Republic of Singapore Airforce (RSAF) will be hosting 32 children from Club Rainbow and their family members at the Singapore Airshow 2012 on 17 Feb 12, where they will get a sneak preview of the various booths and static displays at the event. Club Rainbow is a charity committed to providing comprehensive help to chronically-ill children and their families.
Music for Life Workshop

19-year-old Chong Yu Lun, a student from Film and Media Studies at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, is organising a music video workshop with his course mates on 25 and 26 Feb 12 at Ngee Ann Polytechnic to teach participants to shoot music videos using common mobile devices (e.g., digital cameras, handphones). Believing in the important role music plays in one's life, Yu Lun hopes to empower youths, especially those who lack opportunities, to create products they can call their own and simultaneously equip them with the skills to express themselves creatively through the workshop. Yu Lun is also an active freelance videographer/editor and has participated in several film competitions such as ciNE65 short film competition and TD Campaign 2011 "Make Your Own Home Video" Competition, and won various types of awards.
