Responding to queries by the local media on 20 Jun 11 regarding Malaysia's claims of airspace violations by the Singapore military aircraft, the Ministry of Defence replied with the following statement, "The allegations are baseless. Either there was no Singapore government aircraft flying in the area at the time of the alleged violations, or they were Singapore government aircraft operating either within Singapore airspace or exercising the right of transit passage in the Singapore Straits. Singapore has refuted Malaysia's allegations via diplomatic notes."
