Defence Technology Prize 2025 Team (Research & Development) Award Winner
GUIDED SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY TEAM
DSO National Laboratories
CITATION
The Guided Systems Technology Team has successfully built-up advanced technology that has significantly enhanced the SAF’s capabilities. The team has built up deep expertise in designing complex systems, developing accurate computational models to simulate the interactions of components, and validate these models with live data. The team had also employed precision engineering and advanced manufacturing methods to prototype and demonstrate the desired high-performance designs to the SAF. In recognition of the team’s outstanding achievements and contributions, it is awarded the DTP 2025 Team (R&D) Award.

ADVANCED ANALYSIS TEAM
Defence Science and Technology Agency, DSO National Laboratories
CITATION
The Advanced Analysis team, led by DSTA with DSO, has worked on a system which allows MINDEF/SAF to leverage fast-moving commercial technologies to keep pace with the everchanging threat landscape. The system integrates best-of-breeds commercial solutions to augment a suite of core capabilities developed inhouse where there are no commercial solutions. Combined with a multi-disciplinary approach fusing AI and large language models with soft sciences like linguistics, the system achieves faster insights, better resource optimisation, and improved decision-making. This innovative system is now deployed in operations and has helped the SAF achieve mission success amidst evolving operational demands.

SAFTI CITY PMT
Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), The Singapore Army, ST Engineering
CITATION
The SAFTI City Urban Training Facility team, led by DSTA with members from the Singapore Army and ST Engineering, has successfully delivered a large scale system-of-systems instrumented training facility. The team designed and developed the facility from the ground up to recreate a modern cityscape that optimises limited space for urban training. The team applied and integrated cutting-edge technologies to the facility, to provide realistic training that transforms SAF’s training experience for urban operations. The team’s novel designs increase variability and flexibility in the facility to maximise its ability to provide high training throughput, and meet the evolving training needs of the Singapore Armed Forces. In recognition of the team’s outstanding achievement and contributions, it is awarded the DTP 2025 Team (Engineering) Award.
