Jordan's King Abdullah II Visits the SAF Commandos

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen hosted His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to a visit of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Commandos at Pasir Ris Camp this afternoon. Also present were Their Royal Highnesses Prince Hashim bin Al Hussein and Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Minister-in-Attendance Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Chief of Army Major-General Goh Si Hou, Chief Commando Officer Colonel Kenny Tay as well as senior officials from Singapore and Jordan.
During the visit, His Majesty was briefed on the operational roles and capabilities of the Commandos. His Majesty and His Royal Highness Prince Hashim also received a weapons familiarisation brief and a hands-on practice session before participating in an urban operations exercise with the Commandos. His Majesty also visited the Army's Airborne-Trooper Training Facility.
His Majesty is in Singapore on a two-day State Visit from 19 to 20 June 2019. His Majesty's visit to the SAF underscores the warm and friendly defence relations between Singapore and Jordan. The SAF and the Jordanian Armed Forces interact regularly through visits and other exchanges.
