636 MINDEF/SAF personnel recognised with National Day Awards

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen and Second Minister Mr Ong Ye Kung officiated at the National Day Awards Investiture held at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this evening. This year, 636 personnel from MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) were recognised for their outstanding performance and dedication to duty and service.
A total of 87 Commendation Medals, 119 Efficiency Medals and 437 Long Service Medals were awarded to both military and non-military personnel. Seven personnel were awarded with both the Commendation/Efficiency Medal and the Long Service Medal. Spouses of the award recipients, as well as senior MINDEF officials and SAF officers were also present at the investiture.
At an earlier National Day Awards Ceremony officiated by President Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam on 6 November 2016, Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Perry Lim, Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral Lai Chung Han, and Chief of Staff, Joint Staff Brigadier-General Chia Choon Hoong were awarded with the Public Administration Medal (Gold) (Military), while eight and 21 SAF officers were awarded with the Public Administration Medal (Silver) (Military) and Public Administration Medal (Bronze) (Military) respectively.
