NS50 Recognition Vouchers Can Be Used at Over 6,000 Outlets

As part of the NS50 commemorative efforts, every former and current national serviceman will be given an NS50 Recognition Package (see table below) by the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The NS50 Recognition Package consists of $100 worth of NS50 vouchers, 1 year of complimentary SAFRA or HomeTeamNS membership for national servicemen who are serving or have served Operationally Ready National Service, and a complimentary 5-year PAssion Card membership(1).

Similar to the distribution of the NS45 SAFRA and HomeTeamNS Benefits, distribution of the NS50 packages to more than one million former and current national servicemen will be conducted in phases.
Since April, the People's Association has been organising appreciation ceremonies to show the community's recognition and appreciation for national servicemen. In line with the NS50 theme "From My Generation to Yours", some NS50 packages have been given out at these ceremonies to symbolic father and son pairs who have served or are serving National Service.
From mid-May, NSFs and NSmen who are existing SAFRA or HomeTeamNS members will receive their packages by mail.
From late-July, NSmen who are not SAFRA or HomeTeamNS members will receive notification letters with information on the registration process for their NS50 Recognition Package. Those from the SAF or Home Team may register online at the SAFRA (ns50.safra.sg) or HomeTeamNS (ns50.hometeamns.sg) redemption portals respectively for their NS50 Recognition Package. Registration for the NS50 Recognition Package will remain open until 30 June 2018, and they will receive their packages within 4 to 8 weeks after registration.
The NS50 vouchers can be used at over 6,000 participating merchant outlets island-wide to redeem a wide range of products and services(4). These range from redemption for everyday needs such as groceries, food and beverage, apparel, healthcare and telecommunications, to a variety of leisure, entertainment and overseas travel facilities and services.
The NS50 vouchers can also be used at all SAFRA and HomeTeamNS clubs to book facilities, register for activities, and extend their membership with the respective NS associations.
Through the NS50 voucher redemption scheme, national servicemen can enjoy more recreational and bonding opportunities with their families and friends.
In addition, national servicemen may also use their NS50 vouchers to support the socially disadvantaged groups in Singapore.
The NS50 vouchers are valid for use until 31 December 2018.
To better support the lifestyle needs of national servicemen, SAFRA and HomeTeamNS are also providing a special membership extension promotion. A 2-year complimentary membership extension will be provided to servicemen who use their NS50 vouchers, cash, or other payment methods to purchase a 1-year SAFRA or HomeTeamNS membership by 30 June 2018. This extension is in addition to the 1-year complimentary membership already given to eligible national servicemen as part of the NS50 Recognition Package. In total, these servicemen will enjoy a 4-year SAFRA or HomeTeamNS membership.
