The ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM) Cybersecurity and Information Centre of Excellence (ACICE) was established by the 15th ADMM in 2021. In line with its objective, ACICE established an Experts Panel in June 2023. The Experts Panel comprises academics and industry professionals, who are distinguished individuals of diverse geographical representation and experts in the areas of geopolitics, cybersecurity, information, media, and cyber governance. Their varied experiences and perspectives will add rigour to ACICE's discussions and exchanges on relevant cybersecurity and information issues.
The Experts Panel is expected to convene twice a year – one physical and one virtual meeting – to stay abreast with the fast and constantly evolving cyber and information domains. They will advise ACICE on topics relevant to the defence sectoral, including (i) emerging trends and developments in the cybersecurity and information domains; (ii) potential implications and threat assessments in the region and international arena; and (iii) areas of collaboration to further ASEAN's efforts in information sharing and capacity building in the cyber and information domains. The first Experts Panel meeting was convened on 17 July 2023, in conjunction with the official opening of ACICE.
The inaugural members of the Experts Panel have been appointed since 1 June 2023 and will serve for a tenure term of three years. Please see Annex A for the list of Experts.
