Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Zaqy Mohamad Reaffirms Warm and Friendly Defence Ties with Jordan

Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Zaqy Mohamad is in Amman, Jordan for a working visit from 17 to 18 August 2025. His visit follows the Singapore Government’s deployment of a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) C-130 transport aircraft to Jordan to conduct airdrop operations alongside foreign air forces to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, at the invitation of the Jordanian government. The C-130 transport aircraft delivered humanitarian aid (comprising medical supplies from the Singapore Ministry of Health and food supplies from Non-Governmental Organisations) to Jordan, coordinated through the Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Coordination Centre (RHCC).

Yesterday, Mr Zaqy met with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Jordan Armed Forces Major-General (MG) Yousef Huneiti. During the meeting, Mr Zaqy thanked MG Huneiti for the Jordanian government’s invitation for the RSAF to participate in the airdrop operations. Both sides also discussed potential avenues for further collaboration between both armed forces to alleviate the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
