The first A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) arrived in Singapore as planned on 14 August 2018 and will make its first appearance at the RSAF50 Parade on 1 September 2018.
The A330 MRTTs will replace the ageing KC-135R aerial tankers, which were acquired second-hand from the United States Air Force in 1997. The A330 MRTTs will extend the endurance of our fighter aircraft and ensure the RSAF's continued capability to provide Air-to-Air refuelling support during operations. The platform also has greater cargo and passenger capacity, providing the RSAF with greater operational flexibility and enhancing our ability to contribute to international humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) and peace support operations.
