Singapore and Indonesian Defence Ministers Reaffirm Close Defence Relations

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen hosted Indonesia Minister of Defence General (GEN) (Rtd) Ryamizard Ryacudu to a working lunch today. GEN (Rtd) Ryamizard is on a working visit to Singapore. During their meeting, Dr Ng and GEN (Rtd) Ryamizard reaffirmed the close and long-standing bilateral defence relations between Singapore and Indonesia, and discussed ongoing efforts to boost defence cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore. Dr Ng and GEN (Rtd) Ryamizard also discussed regional cooperation on counter-terrorism.
GEN (Rtd) Ryamizard's visit underscores the close and long-standing defence ties between Singapore and Indonesia. The Singapore Armed Forces and the Indonesian Armed Forces interact regularly through exercises, visits, professional exchanges, and cross-attendance of courses. These interactions serve to build mutual understanding and enhance the professionalism and camaraderie between the two militaries.
