The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) continually reviews its training systems to ensure that training remains effective and efficient. The current Driver Training Simulation System (DTSS) has been in use as a complementary teaching tool since 2001 to expose all Transport Operators to a wide variety of operational terrains and driving conditions in a safe, controlled and realistic environment. The upgrade of the DTSS will leverage on newer technologies, and include simulation training for Class 2B vehicles as well as new features such as the expansion of simulated vehicles, terrains and weather conditions. This enhances training realism and better prepares servicemen to cope with a wider range of environmental conditions.
