MINDEF recognises that land is a scarce resource in Singapore and is committed to work with MND to explore innovative ways to overcome our physical and resource constraints. The polder project is one example of an efficient and sustainable method to grow our limited land space.
MINDEF also works with MND to free up land for national development, such as the return of Seletar Camp for the development of the Seletar Aerospace Park. While MINDEF continues to do this, there are significant requirements for land to ensure that we are a serious armed force that can train realistically, even as we try our best to use simulators and train overseas.
