The structure located off Mandai Track 15 was within the Singapore Armed Forces' (SAF) gazetted training area. It was assessed to be a safety hazard and has been removed from the training area.
The SAF conducts military training in such training areas. Trespassers may pose a safety risk to the ongoing training activity and also to themselves. For their own safety, members of the public are not allowed to enter these gazetted training areas. Under the Infrastructure Protection Act, trespassers will be handed over to the Police. The unauthorised possession of blank ammunition is also an offence under the Arms Offences Act and the Arms and Explosives Act, and is punishable on conviction with a sentence of imprisonment.
Members of the public are reminded to stay away from SAF gazetted training areas, and that unauthorised possession of ammunition is a serious offence.
