The Commander-in-Chief of the Indonesian National Defence Forces (TNI) ADM Yudo Margono called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen this afternoon. During their meeting, Dr Ng and ADM Yudo reaffirmed the close and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and Indonesia, and discussed how the two defence establishments could strengthen cooperation to deal with common security challenges in the region.
ADM Yudo, who is in Singapore from 15 to 17 March 2023 for his introductory visit, also called on Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Melvyn Ong and inspected a Guard of Honour at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), prior to calling on Dr Ng.
Singapore and Indonesia cooperate and interact consistently through high-level visits and dialogues, professional exchanges, cross-attendance of courses, as well as through multilateral platforms such as the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) and the ADMM-Plus. These interactions have strengthened cooperation and deepened mutual understanding between the two militaries.
