Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen hosted a dinner reception for participating organisations, sponsors and key appointment holders of the National Day Parade (NDP) 2019 organising committee in recognition of their support and contributions towards this year's NDP. During the dinner, Dr Ng presented certificates of appreciation to 16 Gold award recipients and 57 Principal Partners to thank them for their hard work and dedication.

This year's NDP theme, "Our Singapore", reflects the sense of ownership to call upon Singaporeans to take action together and own our collective future. In his speech, Dr Ng thanked the thousands of people from the Singapore Armed Forces, Home Team, and the public and private sector who came together to make NDP 2019 a success.

Dr Ng said, "Singapore does not move on its own but its progress and future depend on the collective will and actions of Singaporeans… So NDP 2019 aimed to celebrate what Singapore is and has become – one nation, one people, one Singapore… With quiet pride, resolute determination and a resilient spirit, each show marks yet another year of progress on this never-ending journey to make Singapore better. I want to thank all of you because your contributions have made this year's NDP possible and a success."

At the same appreciation function, Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General (LG) Melvyn Ong presented certificates of appreciation to 40 Major Partners and 120 Co-partners of NDP. LG Ong will also present the Silver awards to 314 recipients at a separate appreciation event next week.
