748 MINDEF/SAF Personnel Recognised with the National Day Awards

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen and Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Heng Chee How officiated at the National Day Awards Investiture held at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this evening. This year, 748 personnel from MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) were recognised for their outstanding performances and dedication to duty and service.
A total of 115 Commendation Medals, 142 Efficiency Medals and 504 Long Service Medals were awarded to both military and non-military personnel. Thirteen personnel were awarded with both the Commendation/Efficiency Medal and the Long Service Medal. Spouses of the award recipients, as well as senior MINDEF officials and SAF officers were also present at the investiture.
At the National Day Awards Ceremony to be held in December 2019, Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral (RADM) Lew Chuen Hong and former MINDEF Deputy Secretary (Technology) RADM (NS) Frederick Chew will be awarded the Public Administration Medal (Gold) (Military). In addition, 11 SAF officers and five MINDEF personnel will be awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) (Military) and Public Administration Medal (Silver) respectively, while 14 SAF officers and 12 MINDEF personnel will be awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) (Military) and Public Administration Medal (Bronze) respectively.
