Minister for Defence in Laos for ADMM Retreat

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen will be in Vientiane, Laos, from 15 to 17 November 2016. On 16 November, Dr Ng will be attending the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM) Retreat and the ASEAN-Japan Defence Ministers' Informal Meeting. 

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the ADMM. Established in 2006, the ADMM is an important platform in ASEAN's security architecture to facilitate open and constructive dialogue on regional security issues at the ministerial level. Singapore is an active member of the ADMM and supports its initiatives to strengthen the regional security architecture.

Dr Ng will be accompanied by Permanent Secretary for Defence Mr Chan Yeng Kit as well as other Ministry of Defence and Singapore Armed Forces officials.
