
Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen will be in Germany from 17 to 18 February 2018 to attend the 54th Munich Security Conference (MSC). Conducted annually in Germany since 1963, the MSC is a high-level security conference that brings together key foreign affairs and defence leaders from around the world. This will be the seventh time that Dr Ng is attending the MSC.
Dr Ng will speak at the conference on 17 Feb 2018 (Singapore time) on the topic "Bridging Troubled Waters - The South China Sea Dispute", as well as at the 10th Munich Young Leaders Round Table on 18 Feb 2018 (Singapore time) on the topic "Peace and Security in the Asia Pacific". He will also have bilateral meetings with his foreign counterparts.
After attending the 54th MSC, Dr Ng will be in Paris, France, from 19 to 20 Feb 2018 (Singapore time) to receive the Legion of Honour award. The award is the highest decoration in France given in recognition of outstanding service by civilians or military personnel, French or foreigner.
