Media Reply on Charging of ME1 Tay Yi Cong

The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) holds its service personnel to high standards of discipline and integrity. Service personnel who commit offences will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

Military Expert 1 (ME1) Tay Yi Cong has been suspended from all duties since 2024 following his arrest.
 
With the conclusion of civil court proceedings, the SAF will be taking further disciplinary action against ME1 Tay Yi Cong for separate military offences he has committed. The SAF will also be taking administrative action against him, which may include discharging him from service.
