Second ASEAN-US Maritime Exercise Concludes with Support from the RSN’s Information Fusion Centre

The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN)’s Victory-class Missile Corvette RSS Vigour participated in the second ASEAN-US Maritime Exercise^[1], which was conducted from 9 to 13 December 2025. Co-hosted by the Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) and United States Navy (USN), the multilateral exercise saw attendance from all 11 ASEAN member states, with involvement of eight ships from ASEAN countries and the US. The shore phase was held in Batam, Indonesia and the sea phase off waters east of Bintan.

During the exercise, the participating navies worked together to render assistance to a simulated vessel with a man overboard. Upon identifying and locating the position of the man overboard, the various navies conducted search and rescue operations. The conduct of the operation was also supported by the RSN's Information Fusion Centre Real-time Information-sharing System (IRIS), a web-based information-sharing system designed to enable rapid collaboration for maritime security and incidents at sea. IRIS’ accessibility and collaborative features allowed the various navies to easily exchange information in real-time, facilitating greater awareness of the operational situation.

During the sea phase, RSS Vigour also conducted a series of drills with the participating ships. This included manoeuvring exercises, search and rescue exercises, damage control exercises, and communications exchanges.

The RSN’s participation in the exercise reaffirms Singapore’s commitment to work with ASEAN countries to strengthen regional maritime security cooperation, enhance mutual understanding and build shared confidence.
