Factsheet on Cyber5G Testbed

The Telecommunications 5G Testbed (Cyber5G) is a realistic telecommunication environment purpose-built to strengthen 5G[1] network cybersecurity, resilience, and trustworthiness assurance through research and development, cyber drills, training, and education.
In collaboration with the Digital and Intelligence Service and supported by Infocomm Media Development Authority and National Research Foundation, Singapore through its Future Communications Research & Development Programme, Cyber5G was developed by Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) together with a strong industrial team consisting of Terrabit Networks, CyberXCenter, and Nokia.
Housed at the SUTD Future Communications Connectivity Lab in SUTD’s campus, the Cyber5G Testbed replicates a full-scale 5G network—from 5G core to edge to radio access network—offering a realistic, secure, and high-fidelity environment to pioneer and validate cybersecurity innovations without disrupting live 5G networks.
By integrating real 5G infrastructure with advanced Smart Nation use cases, the Cyber5G Testbed enables researchers and industry partners to design, validate, and stress-test novel cybersecurity mechanisms tailored for 5G and beyond. The use of telco-grade equipment bridges the gap between simulation and actual operations, allowing users to interact with actual network behaviour—latency, throughput, handovers, and security events—under controlled conditions. This increases training realism, incident response preparedness, and operator confidence.
Additionally, the testbed serves as a collaborative platform for academia, government agencies, and industry partners to conduct cyber exercises, resilience assessments, and specialised training—advancing Singapore’s position as a global leader in secure and trustworthy digital connectivity.

From connected drones and delivery robots to smart healthcare, education, and security systems, 5G is the invisible layer that connects, coordinates, and controls them all.
