Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen met his counterparts on the sidelines of the 19th Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD) today, including the Defence Ministers from Japan and Netherlands.

Japan Minister of Defense Kishi Nobuo called on Dr Ng at the Shangri-La Hotel this afternoon. During the meeting, Dr Ng reaffirmed the warm and friendly ties between both countries, and thanked Japan for their strong and consistent support for the multilateral events hosted by Singapore. Dr Ng and Mr Kishi also exchanged views on regional security issues, and discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Dr Ng also met Netherlands Minister of Defence Kajsa Ollongren and reaffirmed the friendly bilateral defence ties between Singapore and the Netherlands. Both Ministers also exchanged views on global security challenges and agreed to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
