Fact Sheet: NS50 Recognition Package (Annex A)

As part of the NS50 commemorative efforts, the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will be introducing an NS50 Recognition Package in 2017. All who have served NS or are serving NS in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) will receive the NS50 Recognition Package. This includes those who enlist in the 2017 enlistment cohort.
Eligibility
Every national serviceman will receive $100 worth of vouchers, which can be used to redeem lifestyle privileges. In addition, national servicemen who are currently serving or have served Operationally Ready National Service (ORNS) will be offered a year of SAFRA / HomeTeamNS membership. We hope that this will enable more national servicemen and their families to enjoy the recreational facilities and lifestyle services offered by SAFRA and HomeTeamNS.
National servicemen will be eligible for the NS50 Recognition Package based on their NS status as at 1 Jan 2017. The details are as follows:
NS Status (as at 1 Jan 2017)
Full-time National Servicemen (NSFs), including the 2017 enlistment cohort
- $100 worth of vouchers
Past and present Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen)
- $100 worth of vouchers and a year of SAFRA / HomeTeamNS membership
Registration for the NS50 Recognition Package
For NSFs
The packages will be mailed directly to the official address displayed on NSFs' NRIC.
For NSmen who are existing SAFRA / HomeTeamNS members
For NSmen who are existing SAFRA / HomeTeamNS members, the packages will be mailed directly to the residential or preferred mailing address registered with SAFRA / HomeTeamNS .
For all other national servicemen
National servicemen who are not SAFRA / HomeTeamNS members will receive a notification letter by post, informing them of their eligibility for the NS50 Recognition Package.
After receiving their notification letters, national servicemen should register for their NS50 Recognition Package on SAFRA / HomeTeamNS' Redemption Portal. National servicemen can opt-in for their NS50 Recognition Package at any time after receiving their notification letters, until 30 June 2018.
More details on the NS50 Recognition Package, including the registration process, timeline and list of participating merchants will be provided by June 2017 and published on the NS50 portal (NS50.sg).
