Minister Ong Ye Kung to Visit Australia as Guest of the Australian Government

Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) and Second Minister for Defence Ong Ye Kung will be visiting Australia from 7 to 12 October 2017 as a guest of the Australian Government, at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop.
Mr Ong will visit Singapore Armed Forces troops training in Exercise Wallaby 2017 at the Shoalwater Bay Training Area in Queensland. Thereafter, Mr Ong will visit Canberra and Sydney to meet with Australian leaders, including Ms Bishop and Minister for Defence Marise Payne. He will also visit the Australian War Memorial, the Australian National University in Canberra, and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation's digital and data innovation group Data61 in Sydney. In addition, Mr Ong will visit the Great Barrier Reef off Queensland and receive a briefing from the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority on the impact of climate change on the Great Barrier Reef and Australia's mitigation efforts.
