Reply to ST's Query on Extension of National Swimmers' Deferment from Full-time National Service

Mr Joseph Schooling and Mr Quah Zheng Wen applied for a further extension of deferment from full-time National Service to compete in the next Olympic Games, which have now been postponed to 2021. In assessing the applications, the Ministry of Defence, together with the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, will be engaging them for details of their training plans and milestones in order to compete in the Olympic Games.
