In support of the flood relief efforts by the Australian Defence Force (ADF) in Australia, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) deployed two CH-47F Chinook Helicopters from 4 Feb 2025 from the Oakey Detachment in the Australian Army Aviation Training Centre in Queensland. The helicopters will work with the ADF to transport personnel and emergency supplies to provide relief to civilians affected by the flood in northern areas of Queensland.
Australia and Singapore share a close and long-standing defence relationship, underpinned by regular exercises and professional exchanges between the armed forces, and Australia's support for the SAF's training in Australia. The Ministry of Defence and the Singapore Armed Forces stand ready to assist the ADF for the flood relief efforts.
