Singapore Reaffirms Defence Ties on Sidelines of Singapore Airshow 2018

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen met Chinese Minister of National Defense General Chang Wanquan, who is in Singapore for his introductory visit; Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto; and Defence Ministers from ASEAN Member States earlier today. Dr Ng also hosted United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State for Defence Affairs Mohammed Bin Ahmad Al Bawardi to lunch today. Dr Ng welcomed these ministers to the Singapore Airshow 2018, and reaffirmed Singapore's warm and friendly defence relationships with these countries. 

Second Minister for Defence Mr Ong Ye Kung met the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force General David L. Goldfein, who is in Singapore for his introductory visit and Under Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration Mira Ricardel. Mr Ong also hosted General Chang to lunch today and reaffirmed Singapore's excellent defence relations between China and the United States.  

On 6 February, Senior Minister of State for Defence Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman will meet with Turkish Deputy Minister of National Defence Suay Alpay, and host UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs Mohammed Bin Ahmad Al Bawardi to dinner.
