Minister for Defence Meets with Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman and Members of the US Congress

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen met with Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) Chairman John McCain yesterday. During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the excellent and long-standing defence relationship between Singapore and the US. Dr Ng and Senator McCain also underscored the importance of a strong and continued US presence in the Asia-Pacific in ensuring regional peace and stability.

As part of his visit, Dr Ng also met with SASC Ranking Member Jack Reed, SASC Member Ted Cruz, House Armed Services Committee (HASC) Ranking Member Adam Smith, HASC members Robert Wittman, House Foreign Affairs Committee (HFAC) Vice Chairman Paul Cook,  HFAC Vice Ranking Member Congressman Ami Bera, as well as Former US Ambassador to Singapore and Atlantic Council Chairman Jon Huntsman.
