Reply to Jane's Query on Type 218SG Submarine Sea Trials

Invincible is the first of the Republic of Singapore Navy's four Invincible-class submarines, which have been customised for operating in the shallow and busy waters in our region. These boats are also equipped with significantly improved capabilities such as longer endurance, higher payloads and more capable sensors. The project has progressed to an important milestone with Invincible currently undergoing sea trials in Germany as part of the testing and acceptance phase. Crew training is taking place in parallel and progressing well. The delivery of Invincible to Singapore is expected to take place in 2022.
