Second Minister for Defence Mr Ong Ye Kung is in Moscow, Russia from 3 to 5 April 2018 to attend the 7th Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS). 
    
During the conference, Mr Ong touched base with the newly-appointed Chinese Minister of National Defense General (GEN) Wei Fenghe. Both Ministers reaffirmed the warm and friendly relations between Singapore and China, and welcomed opportunities to deepen bilateral defence cooperation. 

As part of his visit programme, Mr Ong met with Russian Deputy Minister of Defence Colonel-General Alexander Fomin. He will also meet with Indian Minister for Defence Nirmala Sitharaman, Vietnamese Minister of National Defence GEN Ngo Xuan Lich and former US Ambassador to Singapore and US Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman. 

Tomorrow, Mr Ong will speak at the conference on the topic "Asia: Regional Security Aspects".
