Senior Minister of State for Defence Zaqy Mohamad Officiates at Launch of RSAF Open House 2021

Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Zaqy Mohamad launched the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Open House 2021 (ROH21) in a virtual ceremony this morning, with a virtual flypast of five F-15SGs in a bomb burst formation. He was accompanied by Chief of Air Force Major-General Kelvin Khong and Chairman of the ROH21 Organising Committee Colonel Amos Yeo. Themed "Our Home, Above All", ROH21 is an interactive, fully-virtual event comprising a virtual exhibition, 3D static displays of the RSAF's aircraft and assets, online games, and exclusive videos and livestreams among other highlights. The livestreams will feature air defence and Search and Rescue demonstrations, and a virtual aerial aerobatics display by the Singapore Youth Flying Club's Virtual Black Knights team.
Sharing his thoughts in his keynote address, Mr Zaqy said, "RSAF Open Houses have always been a great chance for us to share with fellow Singaporeans about what the Air Force does, and how we go about defending Singapore's skies 24/7. While the Open House is usually conducted in a physical setting where the public can get up close with the RSAF, we are unable to do so this year due to COVID-19. Nonetheless, I am glad that the RSAF has organised this inaugural virtual Open House to bring an immersive experience to all Singaporeans, no matter where they are."
Mr Zaqy also expressed his appreciation to RSAF personnel for their commitment and dedication in safeguarding Singapore's skies. "Our Air Force is strong because we have committed and capable airmen and women," he said. "This year's Open House theme is "Our Home, Above All", and our people's unwavering dedication and sense of mission to keep Singapore safe is only possible with the support of their loved ones and all Singaporeans. This RSAF Open House honours our people and pays tribute to the nation that lends them strength."
