Singapore and the US Reaffirm Strong Defence Ties

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen received with a Military Honours Ceremony at the United States Indo-Pacific Command Headquarters (US INDOPACOM HQ) this morning (Singapore time).
Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen visited the US Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) Headquarters in Honolulu, Hawaii today (Singapore time). Dr Ng was received with a Military Honours Ceremony before having a bilateral meeting with Commander of the US INDOPACOM Admiral (ADM) Philip S. Davidson. Dr Ng will also be hosted to dinner by ADM Davidson later today (Singapore time)
During the meeting, Dr Ng and ADM Davidson exchanged views on a wide range of geopolitical developments such as the terrorism threat in Southeast Asia. They also welcomed future opportunities for deeper cooperation between the Singapore Armed Forces and US INDOPACOM.
Dr Ng is on a working visit to Honolulu, Hawaii from 1 to 4 August 2018 (Singapore time). Dr Ng's visit underscores Singapore's support for the US' regional engagement efforts and the excellent and long-standing bilateral defence relationship between Singapore and the US. The two defence establishments interact regularly through high-level visits, policy dialogues, joint military training, defence technology cooperation, and other professional exchanges.
