Introduction
Madam Deputy Speaker, the proposed amendment to Article 22(k) of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore will allow the President to exercise her discretionary powers in the appointment of the new Chief of Digital and Intelligence Service, in the same way that the President does in the appointment of the Chiefs of the Air Force, Army and Navy. This Bill is related to the Singapore Armed Forces and Other Matters Bill, which this House has debated and passed for the establishment of the Digital and Intelligence Service.
