New Zealand Chief of Air Force Makes Introductory Visit to Singapore

The New Zealand Chief of Air Force Air Vice-Marshal (AVM) Andrew Clark called on Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Heng Chee How at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) today. AVM Clark, who is in Singapore from 31 October 2022 to 2 November 2022 for his introductory visit, also called on Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Melvyn Ong and Chief of Air Force Major-General Kelvin Khong, after inspecting the Guard of Honour at MINDEF.

AVM Clark is visiting the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Command at Murai camp this afternoon where he will receive a brief on the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF)'s UAV capabilities and training framework. He will be visiting Paya Lebar Air Base tomorrow for a demonstration on the RSAF's Smart Airbase capabilities, as well as receive a brief on the RSAF's sustainability efforts.

AVM Clark's visit to Singapore underscores the strong partnership between the Republic of Singapore Air Force and the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Both air forces interact regularly through professional exchanges, visits, cross attendance of courses and participation in multilateral exercises such as Exercise Pitch Black. Both defence establishments also interact through multilateral platforms such as the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting-Plus and the Five Power Defence Arrangements. These mutually beneficial interactions have deepened the bilateral defence relationship and strengthened the cooperation and professional rapport between the two defence establishments.
