Malaysian Minister for Defence Reaffirms Long-standing Ties During Call with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong

Malaysian Minister for Defence Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin (left) called on Prime Minister Lawrence Wong (right) at the Istana this afternoon, on the sidelines of the 21st Shangri-La Dialogue.
Malaysian Minister for Defence Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin is in Singapore to attend the 21st Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD) and the 12th Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA) Defence Ministers' Meeting. As part of his visit, he called on Prime Minister (PM) Lawrence Wong at the Istana today. The call was also attended by Senior Minister of State for Defence Heng Chee How.
During their meeting, PM Wong and Minister Khaled reaffirmed the long-standing and warm bilateral relationship, and the strong people-to-people ties between Singapore and Malaysia. PM Wong and Minister Khaled also discussed global and regional security challenges. They discussed the importance of strengthening existing defence cooperation, including through multilateral platforms such as the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM), the ADMM-Plus, and the FPDA.
