Over 3000 SAF Personnel Reaffirm Commitment to Defence

President Halimah Yacob reviewing the Guard of Honour contingents at the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Day Parade held at SAFTI Military Institute.
The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) commemorated SAF Day at a parade officiated by President Halimah Yacob at the SAFTI Military Institute this evening.
More than 3000 SAF Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen), full-time National Servicemen and Regulars attended the parade. Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Melvyn Ong led SAF personnel in reciting the SAF pledge to reaffirm their loyalty to the country and their commitment to the defence of Singapore.
At the parade, President Halimah presented the State Colours to this year's Best Combat Unit, 1st Commando Battalion, while Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen presented 29 Best Unit and Best National Service Unit awards.
Also present at the parade were Senior Ministers of State for Defence Mr Heng Chee How and Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman.

Lieutenant-Colonel Fabian Pwi, Commanding Officer of the 1st Commando Battalion which won the Best Combat Unit award, having received the State Colours from President Halimah.

The SAF Day Parade contingents at SAFTI Military Institute, including a static display of six SAF assets.
