"There are currently no plans to deploy SAF resources for crowd management during train service disruptions. SAF resources have not been deployed thus far, and the LTA and public transport operators remain as the first line of responders during train service disruptions.
The primary responsibility of the SAF is to safeguard Singapore's peace and security. On rare occasions, the SAF may be called upon to assist other government agencies during extreme circumstances such as the SARS crisis in 2003 and when thick haze affected Singapore in 2013. Even during these situations, the SAF ensures that its ability to safeguard Singapore's peace and security is not compromised."
