If you enjoyed the fireworks at this year's National Day Parade, you have her to thank. She was part of the team who put together the nation's largest fireworks display to date.
Trained as an Ammunition Officer, Ms Chan Suet Fong volunteered to be part of Singapore's Golden Jubilee celebrations. "It's a special year for the country and I wanted to be a part of it."
For several weekends, she clambered atop buildings to inspect the pyrotechnics for safety. "The long hours were entirely worth it, especially when we saw the spectacular results!"
She looks after storage infrastructure for ammunition as part of her job at the Singapore Armed Forces Ammunition Command (SAFAC). When asked about her unconventional choice of career, she said: "I've always wanted to join defence to do my part as a Singaporean.
"I would also say that the publicity for the SAF is very successful and well-done!" Off work, she enjoys diving, cycling and running. "I've wanted to take my advanced diving certification too but I just can't seem to find the time!"
Though it has been a busy year for her, Ms Chan will always remember 2015 as a special year. On top of her involvement in NDP, she got married and collected the keys to the couple's new apartment this year.
"Singapore's Golden Jubilee will always be special to me, both personally and professionally."
