I'VE ALWAYS HAD AN INTEREST in defence and national security. With a major in finance, pursuing a career in the finance domain of MINDEF/SAF seemed like a natural fit.
THE WORK ENVIRONMENT is similar to the private sector. It's conducive for work with dedicated areas for staff to come together and relax.
SO FAR, I HAVE CHALLENGED myself with three postings within the finance domain. The diversity of roles allows me to grow and develop new skills throughout my career.
CURRENTLY I REVIEW AND FORMULATE finance policies that maintain an adequate level of governance on the spending of our defence budget. The frameworks we put in place ensure that resources are prioritised and allocated to the right areas of Singapore's defence.
IT'S FULFILLING TO SEE that our work makes a difference to our MINDEF/SAF colleagues. Being part of a close and fun-loving team makes working enjoyable too.
